After an argument with her mother over unfolded laundry, former

Jr. Olympian Catie Brier decided she would fold herself instead.

Finding limited self-folding instruction in Florida, she moved two

thousand, three hundred and ninety-five miles away from the comfort of

her mother's home to live on her own in San Francisco, California,

home of the San Francisco Circus Center.  There she found Master

trainer Lu-Yi of the celebrated Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe and Serchmaa

Byamba, world renowned Mongolian contortionist, both experts in the

art of self-folding.  

Now, five years later, Catie has blossomed into

a fierce performer, working for premier companies in the San Francisco

Bay Area and across the United States. She brings to the stage a fresh

take on a discipline steeped in tradition, combining the strength and

power she developed as a world class power tumbler with the grace and

fluidity cultivated in years of dance.  Every movement imbued with her

passion for the art, once witnessed, Catie Brier is a contortionist

that will not soon be forgotten.
